964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet WTL
Wimbledon Green Metallic was never on the standard chart. It arrived here as a factory special order, matched to green leather throughout, and on the widebody Carrera 2 Cabriolet the effect is unusually cohesive: a car specified by someone who knew exactly what they wanted, and who did not need anyone else to agree.
The Werksturbolook answered a narrow question. It was for the owner who wanted the Turbo's shoulders without its turbocharger, and Porsche built it in Stuttgart rather than converting it afterwards, giving it the widebody, the suspension geometry and the braking hardware of the 964 Turbo 3.3 around the naturally aspirated 3.6 flat-six. Only 1,532 factory widebody Carrera 2 Cabriolets were built worldwide. With the G50 manual and the Option 220 limited-slip differential, one of 1,099, this configuration is rarer still.
One Of One's unit left Porsche Zentrum Berlin on 30 April 1992 and has had four European owners since, one German and then two in Spain. It has covered 156,436 documented kilometres, retains its matching-numbers engine and gearbox, and comes with the original Scheckheft and factory build sticker, the Porsche Certificate, the complete key set and the spare wheel. Accident-free, and kept indoors in Barcelona, where the climate has been kind to it.
